“Hunter's Moon” was born during one of the most difficult chapters of Virginia Drake's life. Following the loss of her mother, she had taken on the care of her father as he struggled with autism and dementia. Having just returned home from moving him into a memory care facility, she was carrying the weight of grief, financial hardship, and an uncertain future.

That night, she awoke to a brilliant white glow coming through her window. Drawn outside beneath the autumn sky, she found herself standing in the light of the Hunter's Moon.

For a few precious moments, her worries seemed to fall away. Nothing in her circumstances had changed, yet she felt an unexpected sense of peace and reassurance—as though something was telling her, “It's going to be okay.”

The song almost wrote itself, capturing that fleeting but powerful experience of finding comfort, hope, and light in the midst of life's darkest moments.

THE SOUND

An intimate, luminous folk/Americana song with warm acoustic textures, expressive vocals, and an unhurried, reflective feel.
